Information:

Child and Parent Services, also known as GA CAPS, is a program through the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DFCS) which offers Financial Assistance to families in need of childcare.

How do I get CAPS?

If you are already assigned a case worker through DFCS, you can reach out directly to them, or you can apply or see if you qualify by following the link below:

**Throughout the approval process, you will be asked for our program rates and provider number. Keep in mind the following:

Each childcare program we have has a different license and Provider ID#. Meaning, if you are issued a scholarship for one program, it cannot be used for another. (Example: you cannot use your afterschool scholarship for our summer camp program.)

If/when you need our rates and provider information, fill out the form below to request a rate sheet. This will be returned to you in 3-5 business days. Once received, it will need to be submitted or given to your case worker.

I want to register for a program, and I have CAPS:

In order to register for a childcare program in the event you have CAPS, you must register in person at our J.A. Walters YMCA facility and provide a physical copy of your issued scholarship.

If you are unable to provide a scholarship upon registration, you will be responsible for the childcare fees in total until you provide us with a scholarship.

Parent fees: The program deposit upon registration is parent responsibility and not covered through CAPS.

Based on your scholarship, you will have a parent fee. This parent fee is outlined in your scholarship. This is what you are responsible for weekly in order to keep your child(ren) enrolled in the program. If you do not pay your parent fee, you will be at risk of being removed from the program.
